Take a color field trip to the outdoors. This is a great place to get inspiration. Take note of how nature puts colors together. Really zoom in and see how many colors are in one small area. This is what we can do with are living spaces as well. Look at a sunset, walk a mountain side, or just simply visit your very own backyard. I would encourage taking your camera and snapping a shot. This will give you a starting point for paint color and lead you to other components of the room such as fabric colors and furniture wood samples.

Small Spaces, Bold Color!

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

White walls in a small space means a larger appearance to the room?  I do not know about that!  I simply think the opposite.  I love to make small spaces explode with personality.  The simplest way to do this is with color….bright or bold colors.  Color actually expands the walls and gives some life to the room.

The photos above show perfect examples of how small spaces can be our tiny little treasures.  Go visit smallplacestyleblogspot which specializes on topics for small spaces with extraordinary style.

Accent walls are not a designer’s favorite idea.  I think an accent wall in a small room adds drama and recedes the wall back.  You can take that opportunity to make a nice focal point to the room.  I love going to Flickr shared photo section for ideas.  Look what caught my eye for a perfect example of a colorful accent wall.  Great use of color!

Small space decorating definitely needs color in my mind.  Check out  bhg.com small space topic tips for more ideas how to decorate your tiny treasure.

Splendor your small space with color!
